Medicines
A safer medicine pickup checklist
20 July 2026 4 min read
A pharmacist can help you understand the medicines supplied against a valid prescription and how they should be stored and taken.
Match the prescription
Check the patient name, medicine, strength, dosage form, quantity and directions. Ask the pharmacist about any difference from the prescribed item.
Review labels and storage
Make sure each pack is labelled clearly and check expiry, seal condition and storage instructions. Some medicines need refrigeration or special handling.
Know when to seek help
Ask what to do if a dose is missed and which reactions require urgent medical attention. Do not share prescription medicines with another person.
